Day 127 Kuma’s FIP Journey Day 17 observation
Slept in until almost 0800!!!
W: 6.88lbs, we lost a bit of ground
Up to start what could be a pretty interesting day.
We’re going up to Hemet to see Saki-san and Bill, Isao’s host parents.
Unfortunately, Saki has rapidly declined since the last time we saw her.
She fell, broke her hip, and had surgery with a replacement, but while in rehab, contracted COVID, and has been vegetative ever since.
She has already been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, but after the surgery and COVID, she basically can’t talk, is bedbound, and basically, she’s total care.
There are some questions as to whether she got too much anesthesia, if COVID did this, or some combination of the 2, but the basics are where we are now.
So we will go up and see what’s up.
Kuma was up and being sweet for a change LOL
We got moving pretty quickly today, so no laser
The trip was smooth, we visited with Bill first, then had lunch, then off to the rehab to see Saki-san
As described, she is pretty much vegetative, BUT, she does recognize her mother tongue, Japanese.
When Isao would speak to her in Japanese, she perked up and was tracking him with her eyes, turning her head and moving her hands.
So we told Bill that, he was visibly upset……
I just told him to keep talking, because she knows his voice. It doesn’t matter what he says, just keep talking.
So we came back to SD, rested up a bit, and had some dinner.
We watched Bullet Train and that was one hellova ride!!!! One of the best action movies I’ve seen in a while 😉
I stayed up with Kuma, Isao went to bed and we all settled in.
Kuma was out of control until 2330!!! I mean, running around, breakin’ stuff and generally being a menace!!!
Off to bed at 2330
An interesting day
