Day 28 Kuma’s FIP Journey

Didn’t sleep for shit, had to move out to the couch for fresh air, too stuffy in the bedroom without AC

0630  Keppra

Kuma was sweet this morning, gave me a nice purr

Kuma is now nuclear kitteh, terrorizing the living room!!!

Skin Surveillance:  no s/sx of sores yet.

We’re coming up on day 30!!!!

He has his 30+ day f/u with Dr. Lair on Monday.

He needs a new shave and we have to discuss getting him fixed, Isao can start to smell his scent glands!!!!!

I fear this as it’s said that stress can cause FIP to flare 

For now, he’s being his same rambunctious self

One good poop today and many good pees

1400 Keppra, Kuma did some good sleeping today.

I was late at Carl/Chiro, and got home right at 1900.

Kuma is asleep in his favorite box.

1900 Neurontin 0.09mL

Kuma has fully learned to jump with a bit more grace, onto the top of the boxes blocking the kitchen.

The adult food is not safe for him, so we have to keep it out of reach.

However, he ate so well before his med administration that he’s not hungry for the adult food and is just sitting on the box, chillin’

2100 Capella administration

W:  4.24lbs, weight gain!!

AT 4.62lbs, he will get 1.4mLs

T:  101.2

Dose:  1.3mL

Position 1, L front flank

Pre-injection skin prep:  same

Tent:  excellent, but getting difficult with lengthening fur, trim due

Injection:  excellent, bevel down, good deep tent, needle deep in the pocket, smooth injection.

Needle withdrawal:  excellent, no leaks

Maintained and bounced tent 30s

CHURU!!!!!!!

Post-injection skin prep:  soapy towel, fresh water rinse, pat dry

Playtime!!

Skin surveillance:  no s/sx of sores as of yet

2200 Keppra

We need to figure out some different barriers or it’s time to just monitor if there is adult food around.

The bedroom is difficult, there are too many places for him to get into that I’m not sure he can get out of.

I need to clean the hell out of the underside of the bed area, it’s full of fur, dust, dirt, and schmutz.

I have tomorrow off, after morning chores and errands, will get into that bedroom and clean the hell out of it for him.

A good day
