Day 67 Kuma’s FIP Journey

0530 fed adults

0600 Keppra

I slept in, 0730 walk, beautiful day 

Isao has to go to work today.

Sat around, watched some market stuff, and watched D2R YT stuff.

Lunch 1300

Keppra 1400, Kuma slept thru the afternoon.

I binged some Inuyasha and then played D2R

Almost time for dinner.

Kuma moves back to 2000 Capella tonight, so Neurontin will be at 1800

1800 Neurontin 0.1mL

2000 Capella administration

W:  5.46lbs, down from last night, will give it one more day until we up the dose to 1.7mL

T:  none

D:  1.6mL

Position 5, L mid flank

Pre-injection skin prep:  same

Tent:  excellent, nice, deep pocket

Needle insertion:  smooth

Med administration:  good, smooth, but I felt the subQ space pop open a bit and that’s when the yowling started.

Needle withdrawal:  smooth, just a spot of blood

Bounced tent while Isao gave CHURU and we sang the song.

Post-injection skin prep:  soapy towel and freshwater rinse x 3, pat dry, no evidence of a leak.

There is a worrying spot that has appeared on Kuma’s extreme R front flank, just above the “leg”pit.

ISAO, PLZ INSERT A PHOTO OF FUR/SKIN PROBLEM HERE!!!!

We were touching up his shave on his “body-hawk” and I spotted a strange bit of fur.

It’s kind of greasy, very close to the skin, and very hard to clean.

I tried dawn dish soap water that I use to clean his skin before injections, but this stuff won’t budge.

The skin is NOT irritated, red, hot, or angry.  There is NO scab and the fur is movable, but it’s not shavable, nor is it washable.

I took photos (SEE ABOVE) and uploaded them to our admins, Nancy and Butters, and am awaiting a response.

In the meantime, I had Isao purchase a baby onesie in case we need to start treating with Vectricin and keep Kuma from licking the meds off.

Kuma is displaying no pain related to this but does try to clean the skin, so I washed it again, and blow-dried the area.  He hasn’t been licking it much since.

We will be VERY vigilant with this.

Off to play!!!

2200 Keppra

A quiet day
