Day 69 Kuma’s FIP Journey

I slept in just a bit, have Carl today at 0800, so didn’t get up to walk.

0600 Keppra

Checked his injection site from last night.

He’s tender in the area and there was some dried leakage, so I got on that like a duck on a June Bug, got the area clean, and all the leak and serous fluids off, his skin is pristine.

The area of “weird fur” is still there, hasn’t grown, it’s still concerning to me.

He had an amazing poop this morning!!  Then got the rips!!!

Shower, out the door.

I was Carl’s first patient today, so we had a nice chat while he did some self-care and massage in the chair.

Turns out, he’ll be gone starting today at 1200, so no laser this weekend for Kuma.

Home to a nice shake and laundry

Kuma nuclear, then resting, trying to eat more, his weight has stalled again.

I still haven’t increased his dosing yet, I want to see him break through the 5.46lb barrier for good.

Played D2R after lunch, fun playing the necro and druid, they are pretty much steamrolling the nightmare content.

1400 Keppra, Kuma settled in for a long nap in a sunbeam on the couch.

Dinner, yummy steak with a topper from Mel, delicious 

Watched YT

1900 Neurontin 0.1mL

More YT

2100 Capella administration
W:  5.46lbs, stalled right at a dosage increase, i will hold him here until he breaks this barrier

T:  none

D:  1.6mL

Position 1, L front flank

Pre-injection skin prep:  same

Tent:  good, but Kuma has learned that he can lean away from me/needle and this makes it very hard to maintain a tent deep enough to put the large volume.

We had to reposition him many times until the tent was going to be deep enough.

Needle insertion:  decent, have enough depth into the tent

Med administration:  smooth, tent is not quite deep enough though

Needle withdrawal:  smooth, but there is going to be a leak.

Tent bounced and skin cleaning during CHURU, Isao to go extra slow with the churu to allow me to try to get the medicine bubble to drop deeper along the body wall.

Ongoing skin cleaning post-injection:  soapy towel, fresh water rinsing, patting dry

I’ll be watching the site for the rest of the night to make sure I can get as much off his skin as I can before bed.

I’ll check his skin when I get back from surfing in the morning

Kuma is off to play!!!

2200 Keppra

A good day
