Day 75 Kuma’s FIP Journey

Day 75, Kuma’s FIP Journey

I slept in because I didn’t get to sleep until 0000

0600 Keppra

Up at 0700 for a shower, meeting a good friend for brekkies at 0830.

Kuma is up and being cute

0815, out the door to meet Jim 

1015, brekkies are done, off to vet to book labs for 84 day labs, possible observation time!!!!

Kuma has an apt on 11/1 at 0940 with Dr. Lair, I have a half day off for this visit, crossing my fingers!!!!

I need to have a conversation with Dr. Geiger (neurologist) and Dr. Lair (primary) about how to determine how to conduct the observation period of 84 days.

Seizures were what triggered the diagnosis, so, with him on Keppra, how would we know if the med was successful and he was fully cured if he’s on seizure suppression?

I will send emails to both today (one email) and see what the consensus is.

Kuma is nuclear upon arrival, chasing poor Sasha around.  If I ever want to know where either of them is, I listen for her growling/hissing and his little feet scratching on the floor in chase LOL

Watched quite a bit of YT D2R vids today, just chillin’, put in some time on my druid and necro, farmed nightmare Cows for runes and drops, nothing special.

I want to get both my toons to Hell before my vacation is over, so the push is ON!!!

Trivia night tonight, out the door at 1730.

Neurontin 0.1mL 1725, Kuma locked up behind baby gates in the office, adults fed.

Trivia…..MIGHTY DUCKS WIN!!!!!

Home

2200 Capella administration

W:  5.76lbs!!!!  huge weight gain!!!!!  I want to see it stabilize over the next day or so, if it stays here, we’re up to 1.8mL

T:  none

Dose 1.7mL

Position 1 L front flank

Pre-injection skin prep:  same

Tent:  good, once we got Kuma in the right position.

Needle insertion:  stopped on the first attempt, meds too hard to push, aborted try, repositioned Kuma, attempted again.

2nd needle insertion:  successful, deep in tent.

Med administration:  smooth this time,

Needle withdrawal:  good, no leak

Post-injection skin prep with tent bouncing and CHURU from poppy!!!!

Soapy towel, freshwater rinse x 4 with pat dry.

Kuma is off to terrorize Sasha, he’s a real dick when he wants to be, I had to pull him off the hunt a few times and comfort Sasha

No leak at the injection site.

He’s trilling and singing to Sasha, and, God love her, she keeps going to him and asking for more, it’s the weirdest thing I’ve seen in cats.

Kuma put to bed at 2300

A great day
