Day 6 FIP Capella, Kuma
0615 Keppra and reduced dosage prednisolone was given (0.3mL taper).
Great poo in the back litter box today, Kuma’s gut is clearing out.
Skin looks good, no signs of sores.
FLEAS!!!!!!!!! Combing is not helping ☹
Today is trivia day, Capella will be given along with Keppra tonight @ 2200
Isao will give Keppra 1400 dose.
Resident cats dodge well LOL, Kuma is a nuclear kitteh!
Good food intake
Kuma’s running and walking are still wonky, but he’s pouncing well and has learned to climb!
He’s still terribly tiny for being, at a minimum 13 weeks old by now……was he way younger than we thought? I’ll have to ask Dr. Lair.
I asked the question about Kuma’s size on the forum today and there is some consensus among kitten/young cat warriors that the animals are stunted in size and growth while healing and they eventually do hit their stride once the med regimen stops/they are in observation.
Capella administration:
Weight: 3.26lbs
Temp: no temp
Location: L rear flank
Same skin prep (see other days)
Insertion: good, no vocalization.
Injection: better, not as much yowling, but was whining
Held tent to allow for dispersion
Post prep (same, see other days)
Skin surveillance: no evidence of sores
Keppra 2200 as well.
Kuma wants to play but it’s late, we’re going to bed, sorry bunny
