Administration journal

Kuma had his f/u visit with Dr. Lair (SCAH), we discussed what had transpired, and what we needed to do moving forward.

Dr. Lair has been added to our Google Drive page for Kuma and given editing/commenting access to all the info on that site.

All the lab results, photos, and videos are being uploaded there along with my journal entries.

We ordered the scale, thermometer, needles, and VitB12 supplement and are awaiting delivery.

Kuma was shaved today according to the directions in the wall of information sent by the FIPWarriors group.

I will upload that info to the Drive

Kuma hasn’t had a seizure since Tuesday, Aug 9, the Keppra is helping keep that under control.

Dr. Geiger advised us to start the prednisolone to help control the inflammation in Kuma’s body, particularly his brain, to prevent the seizing activity.

That med was started today at 0600.

Kuma’s energy is low, he is eating less food, but he mostly sleeps as the Keppra is snowing him.

He is peeing and pooping normally, poops are soft but quite stinky.

OBJECTIVE DATA

Day 1

Capella 15mg/mL solution, viscous

4 vials at $80/vial = $320

Weight:  3.2lbs

Dose: 1mL of 15mg/mL

Time:  2100ish

Site:  R front side, furthest spot forward in shaved area.

IS (inj site) prepped with diluted dawn liquid, rinse with a wet washcloth

Skin tented as demonstrated in YT videos, needle inserted appropriately, no air on aspiration attempt.

Isao had a good grip on Kuma when I began injecting the medication.

Kuma squirmed and cried.

Injection successful, no medicine leakage.

Chicken Churu was given as a reward, he finished the entire pack.

Keppra 0.3mL of 100mg/mL given

Neurontin 0.05mL given

Kuma has fallen asleep curled in a ball in a corner.  I feel guilty as hell, but it’s for the best, we hope
